Calling all Social media managers!
by Shelby Mickler
Do you spend every waking moment on Twitter? Do you still actively use Facebook, even though the rest of your generation avoids it like the plague? Do you follow companies on Instagram solely for their hilarious advertising strategies? Then you might want to consider becoming a social media manager.
It’s hard facts that no one will ever know social media as innately as Millennials. Companies are eager to hire knowledgeable social media coordinators to organize and conduct every aspect of their internet presence. From blog posts, Instagram photos, and even LinkedIn profiles, you will be the head honcho of your company’s online self.
As a social media manager, you will be doing a lot of writing, so it is best to be good at it. You’ll also be expected to keep a constant knowledge of meme culture and strategize goals for social media content. And you have a lot of room to be unique! Look at Denny’s Tumblr blog, or Wendy’s Twitter account. You could be the one making dank memes behind the screen and dragging haters across cyberspace with your impeccable wit.
The best part about being a social media manager? The pay is pretty decent, and there are plenty of jobs to go around. Glassdoor says that the average salary for social media managers is about $54,238, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics claims the career is growing, with 23,800 new jobs by 2026. Social media is still a new concept, and advertisement on different channels will continue to grow. Get caught up in the hype and apply today!
