Greek:                  Πιστὸς ὁ λόγος καὶ πάσης ἀποδοχῆς ἄξιος ὅτι Χριστὸς Ἰησοῦς ἦλθεν εἰς τὸν κόσμον ἁμαρτωλοὺς σῶσαι ὧν πρῶτός

                             εἰμι ἐγώ

Translation:          Trustworthy is the saying and full acceptance worthy, that Christ Jesus came into the world sinners to save, of whom the

                              foremost am I.

NRSV:                   The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the

                              foremost.
